Thank you for your reply ... I live in Corton just north of Lowestoft on the East Coast... originally from Chelmsford so know Essex fairly well. It would be lovely to pay you a visit maybe in the Spring when the weather dries up a bit.
Loving my pup Phoebe she is a gentle soul but a puppy hooligan at times lol
Where in Essex are you please?

Admin reply: Hi Gillian,

I live in Ongar. A visit from you in the spring sounds a great idea as hopefully all the mud will be gone by then.

I think all puppies have their hooligan moments, certainly our two do!

Admin reply: Hello Gillian,
Thanks for getting in touch. Your pup is half sister to my V litter as they have the same sire.
You are very welcome to visit and of course bring your pup with you. Whereabouts do you live? Just let me know when you would like to come.
Best wishes,
Jean

Hello Jean.
Just looked at the photos for the first time in weeks.
Aren't your pups glorious.❤️
Lucky new owners, look forward to hearing news of their show careers.
Sure The little lad will be a great dog in the ring.
Hoping to fill the huge gap that Rosie has left at some point, must be wonderful to have so many .....but such a lot of work for you.
Big kisses to every one of them.
Dorne :D

Admin reply: Hello Marlies,

Glad you like the pups. I have just added photos of them at 5 weeks. They are so even that it is going to be extremely difficult to choose. They are outside under lamps now which makes things a little easier. It is good to have the house back to normal.

I haven't heard from your friend Fran. All my bitch puppies are booked but I may still have a couple of dogs available.

Hope Alex's foot is ok now.

Best wishes, Jean

I have a larger than average male Borzoi,6.5months old. I feed raw diet. The breeder in Sweden, (I visited both breeder and raw meat dogfood "factory") The business owner had at one time, two Borzoi and fifty-two Alsatians! Ergo, the practicality of opening his own plant. I wanted info on daily calcium needs for a Dog his age. As well total calories per day. I weigh and journal each meal. Yogurt, spinach, zuchinni, tripe, honey,a bit of buttermilk on occasion, sweet potato, are some of the many items that he enjoys. Apples & banannas are well received! Any info on calcium per day and for differences that occur for the first three years.

Admin reply: Hello John,

Thanks for getting in touch. Your question is not that easy to answer, as rearing Borzoi puppies on a homemade raw diet is a bit of a minefield. For that reason most breeders rear their pups on a suitable commercial complete food, even if they switch to raw feeding as an adult when the composition of the diet is not so critical.

Dietary calcium requirement is quoted as 50mg/kg body weight/per day. If you are feeding just raw meat plus the extras you list then the best way of ensuring there is enough calcium in the diet would be to add raw meaty bones. Chicken wings or necks are ideal. Otherwise you could use a supplement. Many years ago when I reared puppies on a raw meat/biscuit diet I used to add bone meal but it must be good quality. It is important that the calcium/phosphorus ratio is correct. There are also various supplements available now specifically for addition to raw food diets.

Hope that helps.
